My Macbook keeps disconnecting itself from the internet
Recently, I bought a Macbook Pro in September and ever since I got it, the connection with the internet have been weird. It keeps disconnecting itself from the internet. I know it's not my router or home internet because my Touch and other laptops have a consistent connection. The Airport icon has a full bar. I can reconnect, but I have to go to Network Diagnostics constantly to connect back to the internet, only to be disconnected 10 seconds later.
Out of desperation, I figured I do a clean install of Snow Leopard (why not since my Macbook is new anyways)! The problem is still there, the Macbook is updated to Version 10.6.1. Can someone help please? Is it my network settings? Is anyone else having this problem? Ahhhh
Mine does the same thing - this is my first Mac experience and I really want to love it but this is frustrating the **** out of me......Someone please help?
Same here, late 2009 MacBook Pro suddenly stops going online over wireless. Wireless shows full reception, all other wireless devices in the house fine. Restarting Airport on MacBook pro fixes problem, then 10 minutes later drops again...taken me 4 disconnects just to search this forum..
Same problem here - MBP is 3 mos. old. Two other older MacBooks on same WiFi connection are connected just fine all the time. Hope Apple has a fix soon - this is really frustrating.
I just started having this experience too. I've updated OS to Snow Leopard and everything was fine until two days ago. Nothing has changed on my router. I've even installed the latest OS updates and it still happens.
Same thing here - very bad tonight - some nights are fine - driving me crazy - 4 month old MBP. airport card has been changed - do not know what to do - no one has right answer.
I've noticed that as long as data is being streamed the connection seems fine. so for example a long video or podcase plays uninterupted. but if i stop any activity that needs data from the net my connection gets broken and i have to disconnect/reconnect to the router via the Airport menu dropdown.
I have a very recent N router ( NETGEAR DGN2000 ) and use this at home.
Im guessing/hoping this problem will EVENTUALLY get fixed by a firmware update from apple.
But who knows ?
I was having the same issues, worked fine for months then suddenly interrupted internet with full bars on my airport. I entered the ISP address from my Airport Extreme in to the DNS box under Network on my MacBook Pro. Works like a charm.
Hi, I love my 13" MBP, I have had it for around 6 months now. However recently I have found that it randomly disconnects throughout the day. Extremely frustrating. My old Macbook nearly 2 years old I gave to my wife does not suffer from this at all. We both connect to the same router on the same network. I am not the only person finding this. At the time of writing this mail to you there are over 8000 views on one single support forum thread entitled "Wireless disconnects randomly throughout the day on 13" MBP". There are also many other forum threads describing the same fault. Infact 8 out of the first 15 discussions on your 1st page list of threads reference this problem- thats over half! All people reporting a problem with MacBook Pro's and wifi connection dropouts, running both 10.5 and 10.6. Please can you sort this out.
Here is a list of forums where people are begging for a solution. There are more discussions than this, this is just a selection. Please don't ignore us.
I'm having the same problem that just started happening to my macbook on a netgear router i've been using for around 2 years now. I don't have snow leopard, just normal leopard.
Just spent £1499 on a 13" MBP and the bloody thing won't stay connected to the internet through wifi. I've phoned my ISP and tried switching channels but it makes no difference. I have the same problem when using it at my parents house.
Come on Apple, lets get this sorted out before I throw the thing across the room.
Hi there, i was just wondering if you manage to fix the problem. I also have an O2 Broadband and get the same problem. Its really frustrating, i thought i was just me I guess not. I've changed the frequency and done everything else but it keeps disconnecting. If you've manage to fix it please tell me how so I could end this frustration. Thanks in advance
Another unhappy bunny, the wi-fi signal only seems to drop when I'm uploading photo's to my online hosting site which then causes me a headache restarting the upload. I got a MBP for photo's as they're meant to be great for this, but I'm losing confidence already......come on Apple to many unhappy customers for this problem to be ignored!
