I found out that the new IMAC doesn't support appletalk no more!
That is correct; AppleTalk has been removed from Snow Leopard
Now my question is can I downgrade my new IMAC to 10.5? so that it can support appletalk?
If you can find the 10.5 system disks from your model of iMac somewhere, yes, it should be possible. I'm not aware of any hardware changes in the iMac that would require 10.6 (though something could have crept in that I'm not aware of). You'll probably have to find them on eBay since Apple doesn't sell them, though you can try calling Apple tech support and see if they can provide the 10.5 system disks rather than just the 10.6 disks. A retail copy of Mac OS X 10.5 probably won't work since even the most recent version probably won't have the drivers for the iMac's hardware.
Your only other option is to check with Agfa to see if they ever released updated RIP software that would support TCP/IP. I don't know if Afga themselves even provide support for those old models any more, but you can ask, or check with one of the other companies that say they provide Avantra support. Or you could look for a third-party RIP package that would work with the Avantra and support TCP/IP.
Regards.
