Padlock symbol appearing on MP4 file

I'm currently trying to put my MP4 files into a program called Ableton for DJing, and I can only load the ones that seemingly don't have this "padlock" image on the upper left of the MP4 file. I put all the files I want to use into a separate folder, and when I open the folder, some of them show this image, and others do not. The ones that do won't show up in Ableton. Is there a way to unlock this? Or, if anyone knows Ableton, should I be switching them to MP3's to be able to use them?

I don't know Ableton specifically, but almost all DJ equipment uses MP3.

If you have purchased "protected" files from the iTunes Store, they cannot be used in non-Apple players, and cannot converted to MP3. However, you can use iTunes to burn them to audio CD.
