Censoring a word in a song on imovie

How can I slur a word in a song on the audio track of a music video? I am doing a soccer video for my son's team using imovie and there are a few swear words in the song I am using that I want to slur or silence out of the music. I have seperated the audio from the video, but need help from there.

Welcome to the  Discussion Forums.

One way would be to place a beep sound effect over the main audio track and select ducking, however you might find it simpler all together if you edit the audio in garageband or other audio application.

Or you could select the frames in the main video that correspond to the music you want to edit. Then Edit/Split Clip. Then select the short clip that you just split and turn on ducking. This will suppress every other track (including the music track) by the percentage you specify.

Probably the better way there Appleman, I couldn't think of it, without checking it out for myself which I can't do at the moment.
