ReportCrash and rooksd

I have arrived at my Mac Pro this morning to find these processes grinding my system to a halt. It was fine last night, start up this morning everything looks OK, start Final Cut Pro, crunch, an unresponsive system. System shutdown cleanly last night.

I do also see that activity monitor reports an unresponsive rapportd after start up.

Have tried to kill the processes with Activity Monitor, but they respawn. Clean reboot doesn't help. Tried just leaving them but they just run.

Seen some people flag this with 10.6 but I am still on 10.5.8.

Can anyone shed any light?

Actually just fixed this myself. Had installed rapport from NatWest Bank, and this seems to be the issue, should have thought through this more carefully.

Anyway solution was to disable rapport in the systems panel. Now to complain to Royal Bank Of Scotland.

Very useful information. Had this exact same problem, found this. I also had Rapport installed and was showing a rapport problem and report crash / rooksd going a bit haywire. Have now turned it off via system prefs. Thanks for your detective work 🙂
