I'm using 10.7 and it seems to be pretty easy...Load Quicktime Player, go to file, and click "NEW SCREEN RECORDING." you'll get a message informing you about full-screen or partial screen recording, then go through your usual routine to record the visualizer. When you have enough, pull up QT, then click the stop button.

There are more sophisticated apps out there to do this, but for a basic screen capture, it's pretty good quality.

Hi I am using osx 10.7 and the software is called 'ishowu' and uses 'sunflowerbed' for audio so that you capture picture and audio together saved as a .mov file and thats it. Sunflower bed you have manipulate audio channel to 2ch and perhaps adjust your sound preferences but once you get the workings of it its great! Record small screen as when you play back a large file recording its very jumpy.
