Must unplug/replug monitor to work

Hi,

Had my 23" Cinema HD monitor for some months now and have not had any problems until now.

It won't come on when I turn my Power Mac on. I have to unplug either the AC or DC cord from the power adapter and then plug it in again for the display to come on? If I turn the display off, I need to do this again. It also switches itself off when a screensaver kicks in or sometimes when I change the brightness level.

Any one shed any light on this please? Sounds like the power adapter is playing up. I've tried plugging the monitor into a PC too with similar results, so I don't think it's the graphics card.

Thanks.

Yesterday received 23" monitor back from Apple Repair and and
new power brick from CA. Everything works fine and seems totally
reliable. But it took 3 months for the first power supply to fail.

Decided not to avoid using certain features in the hopes that it will
extend useful life. So I do use both the USB and firewire ports as is
normal. And I will power it on/off just as I would any other monitor.

If it fails again, I hope to avoid the pain of sending the actual
monitor back to repair and just request a replacement power supply.

Well, well! So here's my fix: not expensive, not having to go to the Apple store, not having to spend countless minutes waiting for Apple Care to answer the phone etc. etc. I am running "2" 23" HD Cinema Displays and haven't had any issues in a month and didn't replace or complain about the screen not displaying and displaying intermittently. Simply... I touch the power button on the side of the monitors to turn them on and turn them off after each session. Could that be why that "button" is there??? Could all this be that simple??? I don't know but I haven't had any issues what so-ever! Very happy, I also color synced the "Pink" monitor and it seems to be matched and holding. Suffice it to say... the power button is my savour for now.
