Hi, Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I was out of town. So tonight I started to do everything you wrote in your last post. I printed out all the links and went through them all. It has been over three hours. I am slow on the computer. I was on the last thing to try. And it WORKED!!!!!!!!!! Thank you so much, I am so relieved. It was the link you sent Removing and reinstalling iTunes, Quicktime and other software components for Windows XP. . I know I never did some of the stuff you said in uninstalling iTunes. I never uninstalled Bonjour or some of the other components, when I tried the uninstalling before. I could not believe it when iTunes opened and I did not get the error message. Thank you for taking time and reading my question and working with me, I thought I was never gonna be able to use my ipod again. I do not know why it stopped working but I am so happy it is again. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Peace

Hi, Just thought I would tell you to read the last post by ikaarma. Mine works now after I tried things in his/her post. I had thought when I tried to uninstall itunes that I was doing it right. I was not according to his/her link. Click on the last link in the post that ends in 1925. I would recommend printing it out and following everything that it says to uninstall. I hope you get yours working again.
Good Luck

Hi Wein! Excellent news. Sorry I lost track of you, but I'm glad iKaarma was able to fix things for you. (Nice work iKaarma.)

Interesting ... quite possibly it was a damaged Apple Application Support that was causing the QuickTime issue (and via that, the iTunes issue). Swapping that out as well as QuickTime and iTunes may well have done the trick. I'm used to the days when QuickTime and iTunes versions (pre iTunes 9.x and QT 7.6.4) didn't need a functioning AAS on the computer in order to run, so I wasn't thinking along those lines at all in the context of your error.

🙂 At any rate, I'm glad you're up and running again.
