here's a shot in the dark....Let's say I come up with a cool melody and wanna hum it into a recording of Garageband to use later on as a guitar part. Does Garageband have a function/feature that can translate that hum into guitar tablature?
I'm not that proficient of a guitarist so trying to find the notes on the fretboard would take a while where as a quick notation/tablature translation of the melody I just recorded would work wonders.

GB does neither Audio->MIDI conversion, nor tabs. you might look at Logic, at least for the Audio->MIDI translation (just don't expect miracles), i forget if Logic does Tabs. check with the folsk in the Logic forums.
You sound like some of my guitar students. Just hum the notes and try to find them on your guitar. Will make you a better musician and keep your wallet fatter.
Can GB import MIDI files? I don't know because I have never had the need, but if it can then you can export out of Sib a MIDI file and if possible import into GB. Its worth a look, but Sib is WAYYYY expensive.
