Eject CD on Windows XP instalation using Boot Camp

Hi all...

I was trying to install Windows XP PRO (my version is Windows XP Home + Update to Windows XP PRO).

I insert Windows XP PRO update on laptop run BootCamp and all goes well.

It boots, load blue screen Windows XP installation and shows you options to install Windows.

My problem is when you are on blue screen of windows installation and It requested to me insert Windows XP Home version to check valid update to Windows XP PRO. How can I eject CD? Eject button doesn´t work.

Thanks you.

Cheers,

Jonas

Hi Jonas,

sorry to say, but you can't eject the Windows CD during the installation, since the Mac disc-drives don't have an eject-key and the eject-key on the Mac keyboard dos not work at that time due to a not-installed driver.

Best and maybe only way is to install XP Home on your Mac, then boot into XP Home and insert the XP Pro upgrade CD.
Setup should start automatically and install XP Pro on top of XP Home on the harddisk.

Regards

Stefan
