Hi Steve,
I don't think I have written the instructions previously for the MF series so here goes.
1. Press the Menu button
2. Arrow left to 11. System Settings and press OK
3. Arrow right to 3. Network Settings and press OK
4. The display will show 1. TCP/IP Settings. Press OK to enter.
5. The display will now show 1. IPv4 Settings. Press OK to enter.
6. The display will now show 1. IP Address Auto. At this point you need to decide if you are going to let the router assign an IP address to your MF or if you are going to manually enter an IP address. Personally I think if you choose an IP address for the MF, it will save possible trouble in the future should the router assign a new IP address to the printer (which can happen if the printer gets turned off for a while). But if you are not sure what address to give to the MF, then let the router decide by pressing OK at '1. IP Address Auto' and pressing the arrow key so that it shows ON.
7. The display will now show 1. DHCP. Press OK and press the arrow so that ON is displayed. Press OK.
8. The display will now show '2. BOOTP'. Press the STOP/RESET button to exit the Network Menu.
9. Now turn off the power to the MF, via the switch on the side of the printer. Connect the Ethernet cable between the router and the MF4370 and turn the power back on.
10. Give the machine 30 seconds to connect to the network and then press the Menu button again.
11. Arrow left to System Settings and press OK
12. Arrow right to Network Settings and press OK
13. Arrow left to 4. View IP Address and press OK
14. The display will show 1. IPv4. Press OK
15. The display will now show 1. IP Address. Press OK
16. Now the IP address assigned to your MF4370 will be shown. Make a note of this address and then press Stop/Reset to exit.
Okay, now we can create a new printer queue on the Mac.
17. Open Print & Fax and click + to add
18. Select IP > LPD
19. Enter the IP address of the MF4370 and then a queue name of LP
20. For the name, you can change it from the IP address to something more meaningful, like MF4370DN (this is just a text field so it doesn't matter what you enter).
21. In the Print Using menu, drop the menu and click 'Select Printer Software'.
22. When the search window appears, type MF43. This should make 'Canon MF4360-4390 (UFRII LT)' appear in the list. Select this and click OK. Now click Add to complete the network print queue creation.
23. Try printing to the new queue and reply if you still need help...
