Clock Display

I have an unusual problem with the time and date display on the 'Home Page' of my iPhone in that there is a 'Shadow' time and date displayed behind which is locked at 1438 October 20. The 'Shadow' time & date also appears on the 'unlock' page but curiously it disappears when I plug the USB cable into the phone only to return when I unplug it again. The 'real' clock is keeping the correct time and the date is sequencing as it should but the 'Shadow' time and date as I said is frozen. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what has caused this and how I might be able to correct it?

iPhone, iPhone OS 3.1.2

hmmm sounds an unusual problem there! all i can suggest it making a "genius appointment" at your local apple store, go and show them.

they only get allocated 15 mins per person and if they cant fix it there and then (which i doubt they will) then they will replace the handset.

just make sure you sync your iphone before you leave so it backs up all your data, when you plug in your new one (if you get one) itunes will prompt that there is a previous phone backed up and would you like to restore from the backup (yes!) or as a new phone (no!), then once the restore is complete your phone should look and act like it did before - minus the annoying clock issue! ;o)
