Is TimeMachine Editor v2.5 OK to use?

I recently purchased this iMac and just bought an external drive for backups. Time Machine appears to not allow changing the 1-hour back up internal times. I founde Time Machine Editor app on line, and it looks like the way to go for modifying the back up times/days/intervals, etc. Does anyone out there have any experience with this that you can provide me? I called Apple support, and they don't support, nor did the technician know anything about it. Thanks in advance for your inputs/help on this. Ericksos.

Works fine for me. Read the reviews on macupdate.com or versiontracker.com

Hi, and welcome to the forums.

Some folks have reported having trouble with TME, others say it works fine.

TM usually works best if you let it do it's hourly backups; normally they're quick and unobtrusive.

If yours aren't, it may be a sign that something's wrong. See #13 in the Frequently Asked Questions *User Tip* at the top of this forum before making a decision.

Time Machine works best the less you mess with it. I suggest keeping it at the default settings.
