Yellow tinge from bottom to top of the screen, 27" iMac

My 27" is showing a yellow tinge when viewing on the bottom of the screen compared to the top?
This makes color corrections on my photos impossible. Anyone else has this problem? You can easily
see it on white or grey background (even in finder windows)

Hai Dino!
Maybe you remember me.
The guy who advised you to stay calm and wait for 6 hours while doing the 'acclimatisation' suggestion on your fourth mac.
Which..did'nt succeed but wasn't a wrong thing to do either.
We received our macs in the same period.
And just as you I decided to live with some slight colour differences and 'go for it'.
I'm enjoying this configuration daily: no 'hik-ups' of any kind.
Your last post [I'm still 'hooked' to this discussion thread] triggerd me.
So here are my screen dumps according to the famous DINOBARTEST.
Keep up the spirit.

yes, it's a screenshot.
Made with the preview utility of Dino's test pages.
The problem with doing a 'photo grab' is that, even if I make them with a high quality camera, the pictures do'nt 'justify' the reality of the screen at all! There's lot's of colour differences for example.
Anyway, that's not what I aimed at with my message: I'm very satisfied with this machine so far. Maybe because my 'main stream' of work is in the video editing area. And there's where the core 7 and the video specs of the hitachi drive really 'come in'.
Just wanted to post a positive message, that's all.

willem, Yes I remember you. No Screen Capture or Screen Grab will show ANY Screen Defect. You need to take a picture of your iMac's Screen with Grey Bars Up using your Digital Camera. Screen Grabs are just a waste of time. The picture is taken through the Graphics Card, not of the Screen. As long as your Happy, that's all that counts. But if I saw Yellow Tinge on Mine while my Browser or any other App was Open in Full Screen, I would have not accepted it. Just like I did not accept my previous 2 iMacs.

I don't think it matters where the machine was assembled as all the screens come from the same place, LG who should of by now been given the boot for future projects or warned to clear up the mess.

I'm interested to see what lies behind the glass and if the diffuser is to blame. maybe its lose fitting and slips all the time, although if this was the case Im sure it could have been sorted by now, might explain the leaking light also.

Might ask for a screen replacement to be done at my house (not sure in japan) and then grill the tech to open the display and check the diffuser this way its not me who voids the warranty by doing so. Although i doubt they would agree

Ok just got off the pone with apple and no further on, first they say there is no hardware issue with my Mac and the color difference is normal, then they say that the stock from replacement they have in might give me another yellow tinge issue.

They offered me a replacement, i said i will wait a while and see how thing pan out before going down this route as there is nothing else wrong with it.

I asked if they knew what the issue is and she said ummmm yes but sounded although she couldn't say this time.

advise please, do i wait or should i go for one now????

I think you know the answer yourself. If you wait, you may be waiting for nothing. There may never be a fix & they may go on with the next version of the iMac in 5 Months. Ask them to replace it but hold onto yours. You'll have to give them your Credit Card Info. then they send U a Form to Sign. You scan it & send it back via email. Then you cross your fingers & hope to get a better one. I can already tell you it's not going to be perfect. My Days of believing that there was going to be Light at the End of This Tunnel, are over. I got my hopes up starting Week 05 of this Year but after reading about 09's with issues, I'm done! Apple had since November to make this right. That's 4 Months. And I kept hearing in 3 Weeks there would be a Fix. That was in January. All the Reps are saying something different. It's a mess & an embarrassment at this Point. I won't even tell my PC Loving Friends about this, because, I too am embarrassed after all the bragging I've done about Apple starting 3 Years ago when I bought my perfect defect Free Mac Mini. This experience has humbled my bragging immensely. I still believe & love Apple Products but they made a big mistake in the handling of this particular defective product. As much as their Customer Service, for me anyway, has been Outstanding, they still don't have any answers. Am I suppose to accept & believe with all Apple's Genius Engineers, that they still have not found the problem of why their advertised "Ultimate Display" has a Color Conformity issue. I just don't know what else to say. It almost makes me sick.
