Yellow tinge from bottom to top of the screen, 27" iMac

My 27" is showing a yellow tinge when viewing on the bottom of the screen compared to the top?
This makes color corrections on my photos impossible. Anyone else has this problem? You can easily
see it on white or grey background (even in finder windows)

As you all now can see. This Test is the Only Test to show 100% Color Variation of Screens. It puts everything into perspective rather quickly. Turns your Maybe into a big YES! No room for error or someone telling you, your Paranoid or Your Seeing Things! Your 90 Year Old Grandmother Can See the Difference when Using This Test. That is why I have been so adamant about people just posting Grey Bar pictures without the test. We don't want Apple to say, There is No Difference or that this is Normal.

Dino et al,

Here are my results:

They are actually worse than I had hoped, I do semi-pro photo work (no, not with the G10).
I already knew iMacs aren't perfect, my previous Mac (iMac 24") had an ugly intensity shift horizontally, so always had a 23" Cinema Display hooked up for proofing my stuff (I know there are far better screens for that).
Now that I've moved to 27", I skipped the external screen, hoping that its much touted display would be good enough for my work. I'm having second thoughts now.

In my picture, you can clearly see that the problem is mainly vertical, although there is noticable difference between the top left and right.

I'm not sure if this is covered yet: I shot the pictures while my room and iMac were warming up, there is a big chance that the color is very different at different ambient room temperatures. LEDs are known to perform very different under varying temperatures (emitting less light when they heat up), and depending on which components (hard disk, GPU, etc) are in the vicinity of a certain LED, they might perform much differently from eachother.

In my case they did ask for a photo, but left it up to me what kind of photo I should send. I've sent them photos of test pages mentioned here (with copy/pasted bars according to Dino) and it was enough for them to confirm the yellow tinge.

*An update on my iMac story:*
Last week the Apple Rep called me as promised and offered another repair with a different AASP (taking into account my dissatisfaction with the first one I dealt with). On top of that he offered a pick-up/delivery service for which I am not normally eligible not having the 3-year AppleCare subscription. He said that now he's absolutely sure it will be fixed and I'll be happy thereafter. That coincided with the recent Apple's statement about their solution for yellow tinge.

Today an AASP from Vorarlberg (Austrian federal land, ~600 km from Vienna) called me and offered the service as was promised by the Apple Rep. However, taking into account the distance they recommended another AASP in Vienna, where I would have to take my iMac myself as well as pick it up afterwards. But since it's going to save me up to 3 days in transit, I'm taking it there tomorrow.

Wish me good luck for my second AASP attempt. 🙂
