Silicone cases.

Hey, I'm just curious whether iPhone silicone cases are any good or do they cause scratches as dust tends to get on the inside very easily?

I use a silicon case all the time, together with a screen protector film. I have had no problems with dust or scratching. One bonus is that it stops the iPhone sliding around, or falling out of my shirt pocket when stooping. There are some very thin silicon cases, that I use, on Amazon. I wish they would produce one without the headphone hole though, it would then be better at preventing moisture entering. It's so easy to peal back the silicon on the odd occasion when I want to use headphones. Ditto for the multiconnector socket.

I couldn't agree more about the silicone cases. I have one for my iPhone 2G and original iPod Touch following a cracked screen incident with my iPod Touch and ever since both items have been well protected. The silicone cases act as good protection against impact and scratching of the case, are incredibly resilient and because they're quite thin they don't add much to the bulk of the devices. As Denis247 commented, they really help to stop them dropping out of your shirt pocket when you bend over (cause of my cracked screen), and what's more you can get them from eBay for as little as 99p (just checked!).

The Revo2 has both a headphone jack and docking port cover. In addition, you can buy separate covers for each on ebay for like 3 bucks. Here's one example: http://cgi.ebay.com/AntiDust-Kit-4-iPhone-3G-S-iPod-Silicone-Port-CoversW0QQitemZ280365164861QQcmdZViewItemQQptZPDAAccessories?hash=item414710e93d

Yes, thanks, but they may be something extra to loose. It would be simpler (and cheaper) and easier if they just produced the silicon sleeves, especially the nice thin ones, without the cutout for the headphones, and maybe just the mic cutout on the bottom.

Have tried unsuccessfully glueing some thin rubber strips over the relevant holes on the inside of the sleeve, anyone know of a glue that sticks to silicon ?

I have an Agent 18 hard case. It has rubber strips that give some space between the phone and the case which prevent from scratching. I also have a screen protector on it. I have taken the case off twice to just wipe it down. It is very good against keeping dust out.

Great case but not all that grippy for the hands. I like mine except for that. No drops yet, though.
