Magic Mouse Loses Connection

My Magic Mouse keeps losing its connection. Has any one else had this happen to them. I reapplied the update and had gone through the set again but the connection repeatedly is lost. Luckily I still have my wired mouse plugged in or my IMAC would be useless.

IMAC, Mac OS X (10.5.6)

Yep, I'm losing the connection often as well with the new imac. I'll try the favorite fix and report back if it helps me.

I agree it's a physical not a logical problem. I put some rolled up Aluminium foil in the wee recesses where the + end of the battery fits and now it works fine.

Deleting the plist file, restart and making MM a Favorite seems to have worked for me... so far!

Try the suggestions I collected on the web page in the post above you. There are a lot of reasons why the magic mouse won't function properly.

It happens to me all the time. Drives me mad. Fortunately I also have a track pad as back up. Apple really should help!

I solved my MM problem of constant lost connections by using a q-tip and alcohol to clean the metal contacts inside the MM at both ends. Haven't had a problem since!

Yes, Apple exchanged my mouse and that solved the problem.

It's loose batteries.

I mean, if you bang down on the mouse the
connection resumes.

I am going to buy the Mobe Magic Mouse
Charger. I am hoping that solves the problem.

Who'd a thunk - I removed a post it note from the center of my MAC that was covering the dark "glass" apple logo. Voila - problem solved!

I guess it depnds on where you think the "magic" is. It certainly can do a great disappearing act :-)
