The answer is on the first page, dude - delete the preferences file, install the mouse as a bluetooth favourite, job done.
I've got wireless Apple keyboard, wireless Magic Touchpad and wireless Magic Mouse lying next to each other. The keyboard and the touchpad never lose connection. But the mouse does.
I had the bt module on my macbookpro replaced. after the issue remained. This appears to have fixed the problem.
good luck to other posters
On call with Apple support regarding this issue. I will let you know how I get on.
I don't have the file: com.apple.bluetooth.plist anywhere on my new (mid 2011 iMac, Lion 7.1)
The nearest is: com.apple.Bluetooth.FB177C12-B1C8-5F93-BCF8-9259E1368EE8.plist
Is that the one to delete?
The same issue is evedent on the BT keyboard though I highly recomend not using the temporary fix on this as it not very accessible.
I now use Apple rechargeables, supplied as part of the Apple battery charger. So that should have removed the batteries-not-the-right-size cause of the problem. But my mouse going AWOL persists.
The blurb on fixes in OS 10.7.2 does not mention any solution to mouse problems.😠
My Mouse was shutting down intermittently. Now I have removed the battgery cover all seems to be well. Crossed fingers!
I wish you luck, but I have Apple rechargeable batteries in my Magic Mouse and the mouse still goes AWOL.
hello barry
i want to thank you a lot
it works with me 🙂
thaaaaaaanx 😍
I too have had earlier success with a slice of paper stuffed under the batteries. Now, all has failed. The mouse has been put aside!
Using a Logitech wireless mouse. Faultless!
yes but do you have gestures swipes etc in Lion with the logitec?
sorry I muffed it a little in my reply earlier today.
the trackpad on my laptop is not affected by the issue
but the trackpad on the magic mouse which talks to the computer via BT is affected
My problems with the disconnecting Magic Mouse ended when I increased the tracking speed. I went to the maximum speed. Hope that helps others.
