Huawei e1762 modem from internode - driver not loading
I recently purchased Huawei e1762 modem on the Internode Nodemobile. I had another Huawei modem previously with 3, and have removed its hardware. When I plug the modem in, the device comes up in the Network list, but no driver software icons appear on the desktop. I can connect to the internet, but can't properly configure it without the driver installed. Have rung internode support and follow their troubleshooting suggestions, but nothing works. How can I get the modem's software to come up?
Thanks for the suggestions. I have downloaded the driver and looked at the instructions. But supposedly I shouldn't have needed to download a driver, as a provider-specific driver is part of the software loaded onto the modem. But despite the fact the computer is recognising the modem in Network preferences, the settings I need to connect to the internet, installed on the usb modem, are still not coming up. And I am not tech savvy enough to configure it myself with the minimal information that came as supplementary with the modem. Does anyone have any other suggestions of what might be the problem? I want to make sure that nothing's wrong on my side before I ask Internode to send me a replacement.
Thanks for being so helpful. While the modem is being recognised by my computer, I can't actually connect to the internet. I'm not sure if this is because I don't have the full settings for Network, or some other reason. I tried entering what you suggested, but because I'm not connected to the internet it wouldn't come up. Its as if there's nothing wrong with the modem or the computer, but something between the two is stopping them from working together the way they should. My old modem was an older model by the same company, and I didn't realise that I should get rid of the old software and settings before plugging in my new one. I unplugged it and erased the older settings, but is it possible that this is the reason why it's not working properly?
There is not router IP address listed in Network preferences. The keychain access details had already been erased when I checked. Do you have any suggestions of where to go from here to fix these problems?
