That's one of those infomercial style web sites that talks about "free" but it's just the download that's free, not the utility. Then too when you click on the individual file details all those utilities are PC utilities even though they say OSX (to lure you in).

I seem to recall a discussion a while ago about zip repair and there isn't anything available on Mac platform.

No, and actually, the file is called rfe 05MAC.zip and the Movie inside is the .mov file.
This is what I get:
Unable to unarchive "rfe 05MAC.zip" into "Desktop"
(Error 1 - Operation could not be completed.)

Console:
ditto: /Users/ntforte/Desktop/.BAHXP7Ny/BoeingPod5Cut12.mov: Invalid argument
ditto: Couldn't read pkzip signature.

I have to agree, the most likely scenario is a bad file. As I mentioned earlier, I don't think there are any Mac utilities for attempting a repair. "Repair" is somewhat vague. If a file is bad it is missing data, and likely this data is critical to the running of the file. If you could repair this file (say, on a PC) you still might end up with a corrupt movie file which might refuse to play. Even if the movie plays it might end early or something.

Could this possibly be part of a multi-part archive set? The file extension is totally wrong for that but the "05" suggest more than one of something.

I have also read there are some obscure utilities that do flavors of zip that can't be opened on Macs.

Here is the secret that worked for me. Don't bother with the "TERMINAL" Make a backup then, Try to open the zip file dragging it to your desk top and clicking on it... When you unarchive the file the process begins when you double click on the zip file- then you get the "error #1 operation not permitted" or some message like that... when you click "OK" then the process will close and state "cleaning up" and the file becomes dormant again.. Now Think' What has happened is that the zip file had actually opened by the time you get the error message, and it is pending in a suspended state but the trick is that it is "hidden" on you desk top in what is called a temp file a "hidden file" that is kept from your view.. Use the Program OS X utility called "COCKTAIL" and reveal all the hidden files on you mac, you will have to study the instructions... there will be many invisible files like .DS_Store or .localized. or .temp, but one of these files will be yours. The Temp file will appear on your desk top slightly whited out and have some sort of name like .BAHSFT25 open the file and see it it contains your information and then drag its contents, preferably to another hard drive and you should now have regained your material un-compressed! . Afterwords when you close the Archive utility by clicking "OK" your zip Temp Hidden file will vanish. If you click on your Zip File again then the Hidden file will appear again. That is how you know it is the file you want.... Do not alter any files that you do not understand, when you are finished go back to the "COCKTAIL" OS X utility and revert the Hidden files back to the invisible state... Hope this works for you T.
