In spite of the fact that "Block Pop-up Windows" is checked in my Safari Preferences, I have increasingly been getting a half-dozen or ads so every time I go out on the Internet.
Thanks, guys, but I am not a fan of Firefox. I get so tired of it announcing that it has prevented a site from opening or redirecting. It ain't worth the trouble.
I like Safari a lot and may just have to put up with the occasional pop-up ad.
I'm fixin' to get a new I-Mac with Snow-Leopard. Perhaps the problem will be solved then.

Funny, I don't get any of those types of messages. In Firefox you just enable
everything and the Noscript add-on handles it all in the background.
I liked the idea of no-script but ended up uninstalling it. Just about all sites have scripts of some sort these days and on 90% of the sites I visited I was having to constantly mark exceptions to get basic functionality.
Like BDAqua, I also like complete control of my browsing. I have a number of
regular sites that I have enabled for Javascript, most of the scripting that is
around is unnecessary nonsense anyway and most other sites are quite viewable
without Javascript. But, each to their own. 🙂
Download the latest version of Firefox. Install Adblock, and install NoScript, which are ad-ons designed for Firefox, available on the Firefox website. You will be amazed at what happens as you surf. In my machine, I have Safari, Opera, iCab, Firefox, Camino, and SeaMonkey. You can use any one at time, or even have two or more open and on the net at once. Don't be afraid to try them one and all. Firefox is a good alternative to Safari, once you set it up right, I doubt you will use Safari anymore. Have fun. P.S., if you REALLY want to get rid of all junk, you can download Wannabe.PPC.1.0b14, which will run in Classic mode. I absolutely positively guarantee 100% no pop-up windows ever. But I don't think you will want to work with that browser, it's a very very basic text browser.
