Nikon viewNX closes unexpectedly

Anyone else have a problem with Nikon ViewNX 1.40 not opening? It opens for ~1 sec then "closes unexpectedly"
I think this is the gist of the issue:

Exception Type: EXC BADACCESS (SIGBUS)
Exception Codes: KERN PROTECTIONFAILURE at 0x0000000000000000
Crashed Thread: 4

I have tried a few times with different downloads from both Nikon and Apple with no luck. Really would like to use this on the mac and not have to go to XP side of box.

Just tried to load 1.30 version, exactly the same results.

HI,

Check the Nikon website for a 10.6 (Snow Leopard) compatible software. It says: System Requirements
10.5.7 or later here: http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/drivers/nikonviewnx.html But that doesn't necessarily mean it's compatible with SL.

Try here for product support. http://www.nikonusa.com/Service-And-Support/Product-Support.page

Try repairing disk permissions also.

Quit any open applications/programs. Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.
