This is bizarre: I checked my iPhone apps in the iTunes store for updates and one indeed had an update available (Bejeweled 2). I downloaded it onto my MacBook Pro, synced with my iPhone and that was that. Except that the Applications icon in iTunes continues to show one update available, and that update is, you guessed it, Bejeweled 2. I've redownloaded it multiple times but the iTunes Store still claims I have this update to download. It's not my computer, because my iPhone also shows the download as available, and so does my wife's computer that is linked to the same account. This isn't happening with any other iPhone app, just Bejeweled 2. *I even went ahead and deleted the app from iTunes and redownloaded it fresh, but that didn't fix it either.* How can I get the iTunes Store to recognize that I've already downloaded the update? Thanks.
MacBook Pro 2.5 GHz (2008),
Mac OS X (10.6.2),
3 GB RAM
Me too. The same apps reappear, suddenly, as if I had never updated them -- yes, including the Snow Report!! (Metro Maximus, IP Information are two others)
What is going on...
I've tried deleting the apps (and BTW, clearing out all the x.x.1 dupes I had of the same app in my Mobile Apps folder -- another annoying glitch feature of iTunes) and repurchasing them directly for a fresh install. Nothing works.
It started about 2 days ago, on the 9th November. Seems that the dates match with other posters...PLEASE HELP.
I am having the same problem too... among other problems too like not being able to burn any type of CD from itunes (and its not my dvd/cd drive) come on apple whats going on??!?!?
Same here, only with 1 app. One day later, there were more (real) updates. After that, the 1st app update notification disappeared, but one of the newly refreshed apps came up...
It's definitely server site, as I see it on 2 Macs and on the iPhone.
Add my name to the list of people experiencing this problem. I have one app that refuses to stop saying that it needs to be updated even though the version has not changed. I have 'updated' it a couple of times but it still remains wanting to be updated again. A few other apps have been updated during this time, and they went fine. I am using iTunes 9.0.1, so perhaps the problem will cease in 9.0.2. ????
I managed to get Apple to take Bejeweled 2 out of my update queue and that solved it. That was last week. Since then, I had an update to another paid app, Echofon Pro, and two days after updating, it's back and won't go away. At least for me, it seems to only affect paid apps. I've got another e-mail in to Apple. It's a problem, and clearly is a server issue.
This is happening to me too, over the same time course others are reporting. Eventually it will acknowledge that I've updated the app and turn the notification off, but then it happens again with other apps when they have updates available. I have tried updating the apps on the iPhone and updating them on iTunes, but it doesn't make any difference. It's especially annoying when one of them is Civilization Revolution, which is 80 MB.
I too have this prob but its very BIG when the app is Tomtom europe and the download is over 1.5 gig !!
please can someone help I have downloaded 3 times and it will not install the update
Also my several Macs and my iPhone 3GS show at least 1 update, if new updates shows the next day the app that had update finally disappears from the list after downloading all the updates but again one of the newer updates remains in the list, the app itself is already updated but it keeps on the list of updates.
This is also happening on my iphone, no matter if I "update" the app with iTunes or downloading directly from the iPhone.
