blank quicklook

hey all,
i'm pretty good at troubleshooting these things by myself usually but i have exhausted all that i know at this point:

whenever i try to quicklook anything, that audio comes through (if it is a movie or song) but the place for the graphic is always blank. It is blank for everything: pdfs, documents, songs, videos, etc.

here's what i have tried:
- i relaunched the finder
- i created a separate new account, logged into that and it still was a problem
- removed all the plugins from the quicklook folder and then relaunched finder

none of these have worked

i did just recently (last week) do a time machine restore for my whole system....

are there any other options other than wiping hte hard drive and then reinstall from the time machine backup again?

appreciate any relevant advice you have to offer!

Thanks

I've had the same issues with QuickLook since restoring my new MBPro from a TimeMachine Backup a few weeks ago... been reading the thread and decided to give it a go and reinstall the combo even tho my machine already was running 10.6.2... worked like a charm... so glad I didn't have to make any phone calls or test multiple things to get it to work... a 5 minute download, install and restart and QuickLook is back to normal. Thank you!

Had to make a full restore from Time Machine since the system started to act up and many apps did not respond. Still have no idea as to why but with a recent backup in Time Machine I thought it would work. I did the backup on a different disk and the original problem was solved but then the quicklook issue started to bother me. Thanks for posting this! I have yet to try it but I am sure it will work. If it does not I will come back and edit this post!

Just thought I might as well throw in my own verification.
A week ago, I had to wipe and restore my disk in order to redo Bootcamp (make a bigger partition because I didn't know how to otherwise). So I had to restore my drive, and did all the stuff I needed.
Then after I restored, I noticed my QL was coming up blank too, following same scenario as everyone else.
So did the upgrade again, and it did work!
