Bottom line... soundtrack export: yes or no?

I have read a number of the postings regarding exporting a Keynote presentation with a soundtrack... and there have been quite a few. I am still a bit confused and would like the basic question answered: Can you export a Keynote presentation to QT and/or iDVD with a soundtrack from iTunes activated in the Document>audio>loop? All I get is two separate files when exporting to QT: sound .mov and the slideshow. As previously mentioned it is highly questionable that Keynote could do all the things that it can do and yet not accomplish this. BTW I luv my Mac, I luv Keynote, I luv my iPhone, etc. etc. but this is so disheartening if true. It would be a shame that a work-around is necessary.

Well my faith just might be restored. I got the export to QT to work appropriately. I am however still experiencing some problems with getting an iDVD produced DVD to play the sound for the presentation. I'll keep trying a couple of different settings.
Slides: 22
Auto Advance: Approximately 5:30 Minutes
Audio from iTunes: 3:14 Minutes
Document>Audio: Loop
Export>QT> Large; Advance: Manual,: Include audio: Include Soundtrack

For QT it exports two separate files: slideshow and the .mov soundtrack not one QT file so if I move to another drive I need to export both otherwise I get either just the slideshow or just the soundtrack. The sound is still not playing in iDVD so I am not sure exactly where it should be placed ie. iPhoto, Export Slideshow, etc.

Still struggling with loading a Keynote onto iDVD with the soundtrack. The QT seems to be working OK for me now so I think I've got that handled. I remember struggling with this quite awhile ago and there seemed to be no solution offered. Again, a number of recent postings seem to give a different twist to the same problem. But... bottom line again, can I import from Keynote to iDVD or export from Keynote to iDVD whichever is the process. I have tried a few variations using the QT or direct exports/imports from/to Keynote/iDVD but nothing seems to work. They work during the preview in iDVD but when I burn... no sound. And I am now wasting a lot of DVD 😟

I have always recorded the slideshow and them exported using the recorded timing. When I do that, I only get one movie file if exported. If you are planning on sending this to iDVD, you can go to Share>Send to iDVD and it will automatically export and send to iDVD. Might be one more thing to try.

Then in iDVD after you have everything set, go to File>Save as Disc Image. This will give you a disc image of the DVD on your desktop that you can open in DVD Player to test it with out wasting a lot of DVDs.

Hope this helps some, I don't really know what else to tell you since I can't replicate the problems.

YESSSS!!! Even after meeting with 4 Geniuses and 1 Creative the answer was still a definite bottom line, "Maybe." Until, I finally realized that the one setting that I was not using correctly was in the Export> QT> Playback. I had been using "Manual" and not using the "Fixed Timing" out of fear that it would change the custom settings that I had on each slide. However, that is not the case. The settings on each slide remain the same even though in this option there are settings for slide duration and build duration. I do not know what those options do but the bottom line is I now can Export to QT and then import to iDVD with both sound and video as one file and they work fine both as an isolated QT file as well as a QT/Slideshow in iDVD. Thanks for the help from all the contributors both recently and quite awhile ago when I first faced this challenge.
Peace,
Jim

Bottom line... soundtrack export: yes or no?
