PHY Mode in Airport menu
Hi,
I have an AEBS 802.11n (model A1143; MA073B/A), firmware vsn. 7.4.2, set up for 2.4GHz b/g/n. My laptop's Airport menu indicates a PHY Mode of 802.11n when connected, such as right now.
However, when I connect and browse on the same network using my iPod touch 2G, I checked and the PHY Mode on the laptop remains at 802.11n (I've tried refreshing the menu---no change). I believed iPod touches were .11g only, and that being the case my network would become .11g when my iPod touch was connected. Am I correct? If so, can anyone explain why the Airport menu reports a PHY Mode of 802.11n?
NB: I had a look around and believe I'm interpreting the PHY Mode info correctly. Apologies if I'm not.
Thanks.
