I have a ProRes 422 QT file that I have compressed using the DVD presets (Best Quality 90 Min) in Compressor. I have used the same preset with no problems on other similar files, but now DVDSP refuses to import the file claiming it is an incompatible format.
Make sure you did not use PAL for NTSC project (or vice versa) or made a HD DVD m2v stream....what happens when you pop the file open in QuickTime, what is it showing?
Thanks for the help Drew13,
I figured it out.
The file would play fine in QT which was made it so confusing to me.
Here's what I think the problem was. The original ProRes 422 .mov files were saved with a strange start time (was showing up in the Compressor inspector as"-20:-8:-57:-36")
I edited the timecode to start at 01:00:00:00, and that appears to have solved the problem.
Apparently that timecode was corrupting the m2v file and DVDSP didn't like it.
