iGlasses for Snow Leopard - Too dark? Anyone else?

I'm finding the new iGlasses upgrade for Snow Leopard way too dark. It's useless and I had to uninstall it. Anyone else having this problem, or found a fix?

OK. I figured it out. It's the camera. Apparently the new iGlasses is not fully compatible with the Logitech QuickCam Ultra Vision. I only now thought to try it with my MacBook Pro that has the built in iSight. I copied the same exact installer download over to my MacBook, installed it there. It worked like the iGlasses I usually know. There is a feature that didn't even load in iGlasses on my Mac Pro tower, "Exposure Control" I'm assuming that's why video is so dark o the tower, and not the MacBook. Guess I'll let eCamm know. Wonder if they'll fix it. Don't know if many Mac users still use 3rd party web cams anymore. Do they? Thanks again, Ken & Ralph!

Umm,

That does seem odd.

For a long while now the Ecamm Stuff has been very reliable.
However the range of Macs that their products will now work with has become very large which may mean some configurations have been missed.

I am using iGlasses on a G4/1Ghz Dual Processor with a UVC compliant cam.

I have created a Daytime and Night time Preset for myself as the lighting here changes dramatically from day to night.

I agree Ralph. I guess that's the mixed blessing of living in an increasingly Mac populated world. There are more peripherals and hardware options, hence more software issues to go with them. I just hope we never get to Windows levels of software ad hardware headaches, although I don't really see that happening. 🙂 Oh yeah, and I shot off a note to eCamm support. I'll post any follow-up feedback I hear from them. Thanks again for the input!

Hi It's Ken from Ecamm again. Sorry to drop the ball on this. mattalex is right that iGlasses no longer works perfectly well with Logitech (particularly UVC compatible Logitechs).
We made a lot of internal changes to how iGlasses works in order to support the new capture pipeline in Snow Leopard, and our testing of 3rd party webcams was obviously somewhat lacking. Hopefully we can get this fixed in a future update.

Regards,
Ken
