Is there a way to lock some apps to prevent my kids from using it?

I admit it, I have TMZ installed, but I don't want my 8 year old to open it and see the content. Is there anyway to lock certain apps and not others to keep kids/adults out?

PowerBook G4, Mac OS X (10.5.2)
