Can't complete download of iTunes

I've just bought an iPod Shuffle but I've had no success in completing the download of iTunes. It either times out or just keeps getting stuck.

I'm using a wireless modem and there doesn't appear to be appear signal drop-out or other loss of connection.

Help!

Do you have physical control over the router that your wireless USB modem is connecting to?
Does it have all its recent firmware updates?
There could be some bug in the router firmware, for all I know. That is why I keep pointing out that other people with your similar problem were able to successfully install itunes when they got the download from another wireless network.

So why don't all downloads fail? Again, I am not sure. However the itunes setup file is almost 90MB, while song files are only around 7MB, and the Firefox file size is also around 8MB. There is a much greater chance for wireless interference while downloading a big 90MB file than with a smaller file.
The file transfer software is supposed to report errors but if there is a bug in the firmware, it might not.

Really....here is another story of someone who just used a different wireless network to get the file.
They haven't posted back after updating their router firmware, but I bet it will be fixed if they do.

Jan, what make and model of wireless modem do you have? (Precise model number please.)

I'd like to have a look at the manual for the modem, and the make and model number should allow me to track it down at the manufacturer's website.

Good news! I have successfully downloaded and installed iTunes! All I did was turn off the spyware, a tip I found during another internet search for invalid installations.

Phew, at last.

That is good news!
I'm also curious about what spyware allows a download but somehow corrupts the file or blocks the installation without notification.

HELP, I downloaded Itunes9 3 days ago. It now wants to reboot every single time I open the program. When i first opened the new 9 it loaded all my music(less the art work).did the whole process then closed it. Later in the day i reopend 9 and it started all over again. Does this every time i open 9?GRRRRRRRR ITs not saving my music, it like im a new user each time? Come on apple Really?
