Age of Empires 2 on SnowLeopard 10.6.2

I was curious if anyone had tried playing that game on Snow leopard?
i was going to pick it up at a steep discount and didnt say anything about specific requirements or not for SnowLeopard.

Okay thank you both.

Here's what i found.
It wouldnt let me install it on my Standard User Account, so i created a secondary Admin and viola, it plays and functions fine....in all its 4:3 Aspect Ratio =P

I'm not sure what was up with my main Admin account, but the second one seemed to do the trick. try it out and let me know if its working for you all aswell.

I have my SL running al the Software updates & am on 10.6.2
also have rosetta installed.

Holy Smokes! -- LoudspeakerMusic, you deserve to give yourself a new set of fabulous speakers!

I CONFIRM that your 'work around,' method worked. I set up a second Administrator account, as you indicated, and Presto! Age of Empire 2 was installed, up and running.

I logged out, logged in, checked it again. It works fine.

ALSO -- I was able to do this with an important data program I had/have for a Palm Pilot. That program also would not install and I was emailing the company and phoning them, 'cause it contains Five Years of names, addresses, phone numbers, birthdays, shopping list, Everything -- and Palm was telling me: "too bad, we're sorry."

So, this is a Great Discovery you made. Nice work. Thanks.

Have you guys tried playing AOE2 online while having snow leopard installed? I'm on OS X and my friend is on Snow Leopard - every time we start an online match (over Gameranger) we can play for exactly 20 minutes and then my friend gets dropped from the game. He has all the updates installed & rosetta installed but yet this problem continues. Any suggestions?

that is strange, ive been playing it for about a month now and usually if i step away from it and let it sit it stays.
generally id let it idle for about 2-3 hours.

did you perform a clean install with SL or did you upgrade from Leopard?

i dontknow if it would be a hardware issue with conflicting with either the cpu or graphics if its a newer Mac?

I'd try reapplying the 10.6.2 combo updater and reinstall AoEII.
