I am trying to import HD video from my Sanyo Xacti video camera into iMovie but several seconds of the video are cut off for each video I try to import. Most recently I tried to import a two minute video an almost 1 minute was not imported. Any ideas why this keeps happening. Thanks.
I just got a Sanyo Xacti CG-102, and I'm having the same problem. About half of my video is not being imported. I'll try shooting in 30 fps, but that seems like a pretty crappy work around. Anyone have any luck troubleshooting this? Any help, Apple?
I have the the Xacti camera and when importing video I was able to import the entire clip in iPhoto. Open iMovie and you should be able to edit from the iPhoto folder.
Had this problem today with a customer, the only solution i could find is navigate through the finder into the camera's folders (once mounted), find the movie files and drag them to iMovie/Desktop etc. The full length video will be copied.
Add me to the list. Samsung HMX-H200 Flash based camera. All video stored on a high capacity (32 GB) flash card. Import from Camera - randomly cuts off some (not all) clips. Tried importing a single clip and it got it all. Tried importing the same clip along with a dozen others and that clip only partially imports. Finally used "Import -> Movies" and selected the clips by file name off the mounted disk. Seems to work that way but takes longer. I'm glad I discovered this because I had just filmed a friends wedding and had imported them into iMovie and never looked at them yet. Probably once I got around to editing I would have been puzzled as to why the videos stopped before I remembered stopping them. Good thing I never erased them from the card yet! I hope Apple is listening because this clearly isn't necessarily a camera problem.
I have a sanyo xacti ca100 and i have the same exact problem but I do not think that has to do with the type of camera because with the previous camera was the same. Please anyone help us here!...
