How to connect airport express to Sony Bravia XBR9?

Hi all, I need advice how to set up ethernet connection to DLNA-enabled Sony Bravia KDL52XBR9. I have one airport express connected to cable modem in a study which provides wireless connection for my MacPro and my iPhone. Sony Bravia is in the next room. I have TwonkyMedia software on my Mac to configure connections.

My question is about available options:

1.Buy another AX, plug it in power outlet next to TV and use ethernet port in Sony.
2. Buy Airport Extreme, set it up next to my Mac and use current AX next to my TV using Sony ethernet port.
3. Use a powerline kit to connect the two.

Any hint in the direction of the most efficient and stable option would be very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

As I said, I'm no expert on this. I don't understand what you mean by connecting the express directly to the extreme. When you open Airport Utility do you see both the extreme and the express in the left hand column with green lights on? If not, the only thing I could suggest is you check all your settings to be sure they match. If you can't get Airport utility to see both the only thing I can suggest is you list the settings on both and I can tell you if they match what I have.

basically the only way i see my airport express on the airport utility is when i connect one end of the ethernet cable to my router (airport extreme) and the other end to the airport express and plug it in. i then go through the set up, answer the questions and finally get the green light on the express. unfortunately this does not help me because i need to somehow get it to work with my bravia ( connection from bravia to express). sorry to bother you with this but i am about to give up.

Check the configuration settings of both your AirPort Extreme and AirPort Express.

For the AirPort Extreme:

Open Airport Utility, click Manual Setup
Click the Wireless tab below the row of icons
Wireless Mode....Create a wireless network
Make sure that there is a check mark next to "Allow this network to be extended"
Update to save any changes

For the AirPort Express:

Open AirPort Utility, click Manual Setup
Click the Wireless tab
Wireless Mode....Extend a wireless network
Wireless Network Name....same as your AirPort Extreme network
Check mark next to Allow wireless clients
Security....same setting as the AirPort Extreme network
Password....same setting as the AirPort Extreme network
Update to save changes

i did everything you said and when it came time to save my settings i get an error occurred while trying to access the apple wireless device. Make sure your network connection is valid and try again. i will try and reset my modem and see if this works. question if all this works which i doubt i assume next step is to plug the express to the TV and go through the network set up on the tv

thanks Bob, I finally got it to work. i read from an earlier post where someone changed the multicast rate setting from 6 to 24mbps. i do not have that option, instead I have low, medium and high for multi cast rate. not sure if i should change that. i downloaded an HD episode and it played the last 10 minutes fine but when i restarted it looks like it went from HD to SD with several picture freezes

Unless you have a really strong, fast wireless connection, downloading video is going to really place heavy demands on the network. Remember, you're using wireless for this and losing some bandwidth in the wireless to ethernet conversion. Set the Multicast rate to low.

If you continue to get freezes, stutters, etc., you'll need to either connect to the Sony using an ethernet cable from your main router. Or, if this is not feasible, then ethernet powerline adapters would be the next choice.
