Typing shift + Option + k doesn't produce apple symbol?
I found this previous thread

and tried the solution there, but no luck.
Any help?

Ian,
I can't say the last time I used this key combination. It could have been with a previous version of OS X or even on my previous PB G4 1.67Ghz model. My present workaround is to simply copy and paste the symbol from folder or file names.
Just wondered if it was still possible to reproduce the Apple logo as a keyboard character under the present system software, either Leopard or Snow Leopard.

In what application? I've tried Word and TextEdit and shift-option-+ gets you ±. It has for the last six Macs I've owned.

"try shift / option / + "
How do you hold down all those keys? Where do you get another / on the keyboard?

That gets you ±.

Exactly, it's shift-option-k, not shift-option-+.
