Garbled messages in Mail.app (using Gmail IMAP)

Several of my archived messages in Gmail are displaying with garbled headers in Mail.app, which is configured to access my Gmail account via IMAP. Here's what the headers look like:

Note that the message displays perfectly in Gmail on the web.

My company uses Communigate mail server and we all use IMAP. I routinely see this issue, so it's not related to Gmail. It definitely has something to do with moving messages between folders. I have rules to sort my mail.

As a workaround, I have an empty folder to which I move the messages and then rebuild the folder, which downloads the messages correctly. And if I move them again, sometimes they are corrupted again, sometimes not.

I too have this problem, For me it appears to only happen with messages that have attachments and are moved to a folder. It certainly appears to be an Apple Mail.app problem.

My school also has this problem. Apple: Please verify that you are working on fixing this or I have to move people to Thunderbird.

You are not talking to Apple here, just other users like yourself. To tell them something go here:

http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html

You are not going to get the info you want from them either, so best use another app if Mail doesn't meet your needs.

Thanks for the Tip, (Mailbox > Rebuild) fixes the email.
