27" Core i7 iMac blacks out then restarts itself for no reason...

I've had this new iMac since late November and everything has been perfect. However it has twice now just randomly blacked out the screen and then the computer restarted itself. What could do this? I was just reading a webpage each time. I have never seen a computer do this before... The back of the iMac does not feel hot each time it restarts. I have added for 4GB of RAM to make it 8GB, but would that be an issue. This is very troubling...

Does anyone else have this problem? Or any suggestions?

In this case the technicians are wrong, as you will see form this forum. many people have this issue and they all have 16G of non OEM RAM, actually apple don't have to sort it as its not their RAM, people are now saying that when they speak to the likes of crucial, they have now made tweaks to tackle the problem. If you ordered 16G from apple when you bought your machine it would work fine.

I am a huge apple fan, but this is a serious black eye.

iMac, 27, 2.66qc, 8gb, 1tb

I am about 16 months in, board failure in one of the cores. Really? 16 months?

What about "it just works".

I spent way too much money for a $1500 part replacement after 16 months.

I will be searching for a Class Action as I am sure I am not alone.

I spent almost 3k on this Mac, and got a "good 16 months" out of it. Give me a break.

Sorry, just venting, no solutions here... :)
