Fizzy and hissing sound when using earphone...

I have a Macbook Pro 13 inches 2009. I use my earphone to listen music. However, when I don't play music, I can hear a fizzy and hissing sound from my earphone. I tried to use another one but there is still fizzy and hissing sound when no music is playing. I can hear that even clearer when my room is silent. I feel really annoyed about that sound.

If anyone knows how to fix it, please let me know. Any helps are appreciating...

P/S: I'm not sure if it's a software issue or hardware issue.

Is it hissing when you are playing music or just when you have the jack in and have the music on mute or pause?

When I'm play music, I just hear music. I dont hear any fizzy or hissing in that time. But when I turn off music, I can hear fizzy sound. In fact, everytimes, I put earphone jack on my laptop and there is that sound.

The problem is when I dont play music, there is still fizzy and hissing sound on my earphone. Only when I play music, the music is louder than that sound so I just hear music in that time. However, when I dont play music, there is always fizzy sound on my earphone. I already said it always happens when I put my earphone jack on Macbook Pro.

I want to know if there are any ways to fix that... It's really annoying. It's not silent at all even there is no music. Always a fizzy sound on my earphone.

Have you tried different headphones? Same results?

I would personally take it in to an Apple Store and have a Genius take a look at it if it is really annoying you.

I already tried another headphone. There is still that sound. It's really annoying because even everything is silent... there is still that sound on the earphone and it's really noisy.

Some people said it's electric sound or something like that. I just wonder if there are any ways to fix it.

Your computer is under warranty. Have Apple fix it.

Just out of curiosity, why do you wear your earphones when you aren't listening to anything?

Yes, my lap is still under warranty. I really don't want to carry my lap to Apple Store because it's really far from my apartment. However, I will try.

Sometimes, I listen music and I just stop music for a while to focus on something else. Also sometimes I just wear headphone to get out of noisy sound from my neighborhood. But, because of fizzy sound, everything is still noisy on my earphone. I hate it.

Thanks for all of your helps. I would love to fix it without going to Apple store.

If you're too lazy to have your computer sorted out under warranty but you want to wear headphones without listening to anything, unplug the headphones.

I'd be interested in knowing how that turned out for you. I have a 13" MBP too and notice the exact same issue. There seems to be a few threads on the topic with many many posts.
