MATSHITADVD-R UJ-835E and DVD-R DL 8.5 Gb Media

Does anyone knows can one utilize (burn data on it) DVD-R DL 8.5 Gb media on a PowerBook's MATSHITADVD-R UJ-835E Combo Drive ?

Any info is appreciated! For now I know it can't utilize DVD+R DL 8.5 Gb media, but am not sure what is the result on DVD-R since I don't have one disc to try and test.

Thank you all for any feedback!

That is correct and known by me and those responded so far, but we are trying to see if anyone is aware of any kind of firmware that will make this UJ-835E unit to be enabled into DL mode. Today's DVD readers/burners are either hardware "coded" or firmware and many units by changing firmware or jumper settings (if one has that option) or replacing one chip can perform other functions. Manufacturers make those small changes so they can milk the consumers as much as possible, so why not try to find way to save money and get maximum of already expensive hardware we all purchase.
Quite honestly after spending $3000 for PBG4 I would like to see this kind of an firmware upgrade directly from Apple if they want me to stay devoted to their product in future and buy new PB in few years!

I and other already know that! Questions was completely something else and if you re-read it will find that I asked - is anyone aware how this particular drive can be utilized to write DL media or question could have been even better if stated as " does anyone knows of any firmware upgrade (from Apple or alternative) for this drive in order to enable it to write on DL media?". No one asked about what it can't do since we already know that! 🙂
