Imac Core 2 Duo 2.66 20' freezing on Snow Leopard
When I open Imovie and I import a DV file the Imovie and the snow Leopard freezes.
I have used Snow Leopard for several months and only now this problem occurred.
I see that my Snow Leopard was very slow after this problem...
I formatted the hard disk and put the original Imac disk (Leopard) but the problem continues.
I have called to Brazil Apple Center and they told me to make Apple Hardware Test.
The result was an error 4MOT/2/40000004: HDD-1373.
I formated the HD again and I put only the Snow Leopard and I make Hardware Test again. The problem continued.
The Disk Utility doesn't identify the problem (S.M.A.R.T. is OK)
I tested the memory and nothing occurred.
Apple says it can't identify the error code and they believes the HDD information could be a problem in the hard disk.
After searching in the internet about this error I believe the problem can be solved changing the hard disk by a new one.
My Imac is out of the garantee and I think that I must buy a new HD to make the change.
I have seen in the www.ifixit.com how to open the Imac to change the hard disk.
I hope everything will be ok when I open my Imac...
Apple should be investigate about this problem because I think that this should be a software problem and no hardware...
Is there anybody that can give me any information ?
