Max Macbook Pro CPU Temperature?

iskihood, a CPU temperature of 70 to 80ºC is not an issue and common when playing games , rendering video, etc.

The fans, as has been pointed out in another thread of yours, are actually running at 2000 RPM even when the computer is cold. They simply speed up as the CPU temperature rises. Under OSX they are usually running at a substantially increased speed by the time the computer reaches 70 or 80 degrees (though still not flat out). Under bootcamp the "stepping" may be different, but the temps in the 70 to 80 degree C range you mention are not a problem regardless.

Apple does not publish the maximum CPU (or any other) temperature however you MBP does have protection that will shut it down when it senses over heating. Until then don't worry about operating temperatures and just enjoy the computer.

It is covered by warranty and I would also strongly suggest purchasing AppleCare to extend the warranty which includes telephone support to 3 full years from the date of purchase.

No they don't, but Intel does. The Core Duo safe operating temperature limit is 100 degrees celsius: http://processorfinder.intel.com/details.aspx?sSpec=SL8VU

Core 2 Duos have a 105 degrees celsius cap: http://processorfinder.intel.com/details.aspx?sSpec=SLGEK

The maximum processor temp in the C2D's varies a bit William. Some MBP 13" 2.26 models, for example, are fitted with a P7550 processor that has a maximum temp of 95ºC, while other 2.26 models have the P8400, which, as you say has a maximum operating temp of 105ºC.

Not at all, that is perfectly normal. Encoding DVDs will almost always increase the temps, when you're done you should see a drop.
