Burning multiple copies of CD/DVD's

Does anyone know of any open source/free software that can be used to burn multiple copies of a CD/DVD, and also of any which can also utilise multiple burners?

I'm looking for functionality similar to Nero where you'd specify how many copies of the disc you'd like burnt and you just needed to keep swapping the discs out when they'd finished and insert a blank.

I ask this because I run a small AV production team within a Government agency, and we do have the need quite often now to duplicate discs. Obviously we'd like to make this process as easy as possible - and potentially not have to tie up highly skilled assets to sit there like monkeys and watch over things.

As far as free or open source projects look on VersionTracker or MacUpdate.

You can make a disc image of a disc using Disk Utility then burn as many copies of it as you want. However, unless you have a commercial multi-copy disc duplicator there's no way to automate this using a Mac with one or two optical drives.

To make a duplicate image:

Duplicate a CD or DVD

1. Insert the DVD/CD;
2. Open Disk Utility, and select the DVD/CD from the left side list (select the DVD/CD icon on top);
3. from the DU File menu select New | Disk Image from Disk 1;
4. Choose to format the disk image as DVD/CD Master, name the disk image and click Save;
5. When the .cdr file is finished select it with mouse and press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info and check the box to lock the file;
6. Choose the .cdr file from the left side list, click Burn, and insert a new, blank DVD or CD.

There are commercial duplication services who may be able to make copies cheaper than you can in-house depending upon the volume.
