How to rotate a *.MOV video by 90 degrees ?

I have a *.MOV video from a digicam in portrait format.

In order to be able to see it correctly I have to rotate it by 90 deg.

How can I do this with QT Pro?

As I found out the problem is NOT completely solved.

I rotated and saved the movie as sugested. I can play it in the right orientation with Quickplayer.

But when I want to play it not with the QuickPlayer but with the well known, wide spread VLC video player ( http://www.videolan.org) then the rotation is not recognized. It is played again with 90 deg.

It seems to me that QT Pro changes just a certain hidden header field in the *.MOV video. VLC (and other players) cannot understand this.

Maybe I have not just to rotate and save the video but re-encode and save it.
Do you have a solution?

Peter
