I need to use my modem but realize the modem driver hasn't installed yet. How do I install the driver? Thanks

Check in Macintosh HD>Library>Modem Scripts. I suspect the script for the modem is there.
Hi, Kok Lee. Just checking: do you want to use your built-in internal modem, or an external unit?
All the software you need to support your built-in modem should have been installed as part of a standard OS installation. You would have had to remove it for it to be missing now.

Hi eww and sign, I am trying to use my internal modem that comes with the laptop. I found the modem folder in Library folder, what should I do now?
What you need to do depends on what you're trying to accomplish, but here, for example, is how to connect to the internet through your modem. (These instructions are for Panther; I don't have Tiger).
Open the Internet Connect application in your Applications folder. Click the Internal Modem button in IC's button bar. Fill in your ISP's dialup access telephone number, your account/username, and your password in the appropriate boxes, and click the Connect button. That's all!

Eww, thanks for your reply. But maybe I didn't explain my problem detail enough. I know how to connect to the internet. But my problem is the modem driver is not installed on my laptop. No information found when I clicked on the modem under System Profiler. I believe either I have a bad modem or the modem driver is not yet install. I do have the OSX CD and I am looking for the instruction to reinstall the modem driver. Any idea?
Kok,
You may have a hardware problem. The following is the info I get from System Profiler when I click on Modems:
Modem Model: MicroDash
Interface Type: USB
Modulation: V.92
SKU Name: UCJ
Hardware Version: 1.0F
Firmware Version: APPLE VERSION 2.6.6
Driver: InternalUSBModem.kext (v2.6.6)
Country: B5 (United States, Latin America)

Hi KOK,
I suspect sig is correct that you have a hardware issue. I do not know if Apple Hardware Test checks the modem, but you may want to run that and see what it turns up (anybody know if AHT checks modem?).
Any chance you're still covered under AppleCare? If so, time to contact them.
Good luck.
