My iTunes Library has a thousand songs, but can only get 53 of them to sync to my
iPod. I had added some new songs and wanted to sync them to the iPod. I lost everything on the nano. All songs are still in library and on playlist, but will
not transfer to the iPod. This is a nano 3rd gen. I bought it new, it's worked fine until today. can any one help me?
I am having sort of the same problem. My playlists mysteriously disappeared on my iPod, even though they are still on my computer's hard drive. did you get an answer? Thanks, Dave
I have never had this problem in the past. Right now, my iPod Nano (5th Generation) currently does not sync all songs and randomly shuts down sometimes while syncing. I know my music is not corrupt, nor is the hard drive. I have restored my iPod 5 times now and restoring the iPod, deleting my iTunes 9.0.3 library and uninstalling it; reinstalling iTunes and re-adding the library still does not help. I have searched for answers but have not found any regarding the 5th generation iPod Nanos. I know my music is not corrupt because I can play all the songs on WinAmp, iTunes and even Windows Media Player with no problem. My thought and assumption is that a bit on the RAM used in the Nano has somehow become corrupt (whether it be by me accidentally leaving it plugged in while my computer went to sleep, or by some other method).
The music I have is bought from Amazon, and from iTunes, and the rest are from CD's that I have ripped using the LameMP3 codec using Windows Media Player 11 to rip to my external Seagate FreeAgent 1TB Extreme (it is hooked up using eSATA).
I built my computer by myself, over the years, currently it consists of:
ASUS P5K-E WiFi/AP Motherboard, Intel Core 2 Duo E6750, 4 GB Patriot RAM, 160GB Seagate boot drive, and other hard drives that amount over 1TB (including my external 1TB). I have been using Windows 7 Professional 64-bit ever since the beta (I have the full version installed currently) and have not had any problems even with beta testing.
I would greatly appreciate it if someone would have some sort of answer for me, but if not, then I will discuss this matter with Apple Expert when they call me on Wednesday.
Thank you for your time.
I have a couple questions,
Is your ipod set up to auto sync or to let you manually manage the music transferring to your ipod? Also is the ipod set up to only sync checked songs. If this it the case do all your songs and songs in your playlist have check marks next to them in the squares in front of the song titles?
fergy, i had a similar problem and successfully tried the following. turn off antivirus/spyware and go to control panel. select add/remove programs and then click on itunes. select 'change' option and then 'repair.' after doing this my nano loaded successfully, thankfully.
good luck jimbo
