Macbook Pro Running in excess of 92 C (~196 F)

What is normal temp for macbook pro under 100% load? Recently I have been running Gaussian 09 and the temp has constantly been exceeding 196 F for extended periods of time. A typical calculation takes between 3 hrs and 2 days. Any tips to cool? It is sitting on a stand that is well ventilated and even has an additional fan next to the laptop to help circulate hot air from the back of the laptop.

I break 92º C with video encodes so I would say normal. I never had a shutdown due to heat and I have hit 100º with 9600 enabled. A constant 90º is OK so long as the fans are blaring and it is stable. Whenever you are throttling the processor to it's max clock cycle the heat gets large in a 1" enclosure. Normally the Macbook's sit there at 1-1.3GHz. So keeping cool is easy. Can you do the calculations outside?:-)

my mbp is normaly around 58-70 C, but when i open ¨Reason¨ o ¨Rapidweaver¨ it goes up to 90´s my max has been 101 C, and im kinda concerned, it didnt used to get this hot, i took it to an apple distributor to check it but all they did was calibrate the fans, apparetly the thermal paste was enough also, so i think my comp must be dying or something. not sure what to do apart from getting a heating pad

Due to the process you are running, that may simply be the appropriate temperature.

I recommend a laptop cooling pad, which puts an air gap underneath your MacBook Pro and has fans to circulate that air:
