No I don't think there is a fraction button in the built-in calculator. It can process fractions; you just have to enter it arithmetically. For example, 2 3/4 can be entered as 2 + (3 / 4).

The iPhone calculator respects the order of operations, so 1 + 7/8 gives the same results as 7/8 + 1. So I'm not sure what the advantage of a different calculator would be.
I looked on google a bit and it seems that some calculators have a button that changes decimals back to fractions. The built in calculator doesn't do that, but the rest can just be replace by the divide button.
If you need to calculate fractions then purchase a cheap TI or Casio scientific calculator. They all can do fractions and mixed numbers (direct entry of 1 7/8 instead of 7 divided by 8, plus 1).
