Preview displays "Copy" watermark

The manuals downloaded from Canon's camcorder site are protected. In Preview this manifests itself by a large "COPY" watermark across every single page, which is somewhat distracting if you want to read the entire manual.

Acrobat doesn't display the watermark. I really find the Acrobat UI distasteful, and would rather use Preview.

Is there anyway to remove the watermark or otherwise get Preview to not display the watermark?

For example, check out the HV40 manual here: http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=177&mo delid=17996#DownloadDetailAct

The pdf is password protected. It was created by Adobe Acrobat and the "copy" apparently doesn't show up when opened or printed using Adobe Reader. You can't go to Print and save it as a pdf because that's not supported. In this case you are at the mercy of the creator of the pdf. You'll just need to use Reader to view the document. Note that if you print it from Reader you will get the watermark.
