any way to batch add comments in Comments column?

I have to add comments for hundreds of files using the Comments column in the finder window. IS there any way to batch add the same comment to hundreds of files?

Or do I need to individually open each file using "Get Info" and add the same comment manually over and over? Wish there was a batch name option for the Comments column. It would save hours of work.

you can use automator for this. it has an action to set spotlight comment. for example, make a workflow consisting of two actions
1. get selected finder items
2. set spotlight comments.

you can even make it a service so that it will be available from right-click menu on selected items in finder. In that case you don't need "get selected finder items" action.
