iPod Shuffle Moisture problem / Sweat Malfunction / Headphones do not work

Is there any solution to this? I'm on my THIRD replacement set of my 4gb shuffle. If I use it to go running, the headphones are toast...the volume controls goes first, and if I keep using it, so will the song advance button. I hear there are other headphones out there with tapstick controls. Anyone out there had any luck with them?

I hate my 3G shuffle...I bought it for my son for doing well in school. The earphones do not stay in his ears, nor mine. I tried taking it hiking with me and I couldn't figure out how to easily change songs without stopping and looking. The shuffle does not stay charged long enough. It skips and breaks up while I'm moving. It is a hunk of junk and I wish that there was something I could do to get a replacement - I'd like an old 2G shuffle for him. I have a 2G shuffle that I love - easy to use, never have problems with it - I would let my son use it, but it's pink and that's not cool. Does anyone know what Apple is planning on doing about this terrible product?

I am completely disgusted by the earphone situation with my iPod Shuffle. I am on my second pair and those are now malfunctioning. I had to replace my first set after about three months of use. The only reason I didn't have to pay for the replacement is because I went into the store and (uncharacteristically) threw a fit.

I find it very hard to believe that this was an unforseeable design flaw. It feels as though we are being hosed by Apple because these things cost $30 each and, with the new design, the entire iPod is rendered useless when the earphones go out. It is next to impossible to prevent sweat from dripping into them when you workout. And, we all know, 90% of the users have them for use during exercise.

Apple needs to fix this and make a viable replacement available to those who have purchased their ill-conceived product.
