Belkin 54G wireless router...

Dear all,

I am connecting via BT Broadband 2mb with the aid of a Belkin 54G wifi router. Things are good - it works fine most of the time however every so often I have to manually connect the router to the service by going to the settings via an internet broswer and then hitting the connect button. Sometimes I don't - the router detects that I am requesting access and simply connects.

Can anyone out there help me setup my router properly to avoid having to manually connect?

Many thanks,

Vishal Vora

Hello Vishal Vora

When posting a question it is a good idea to provide the exact model number of the router your talking about. As there are different types of routers. A Standard Belkin 54G router requires you to use an additional ethernet ADSL modem in order to connect to ADSL such as BT broadband. However you may be using an Belkin Wireless router that has an intergrated ADSL modem.

But there does not seem to be a keep alive setting on a belkin ADSL modem/router so therefore I assume it should just keep your connection up. Therefore it may be your BT connection dropping.
